Beauty#6 - Brushes or Beauty Blender?

A questão: para a aplicação da base é melhor o pincel ou a esponja Beauty Blender?

No meu post "Beauty Blender - a gota mágica?" - aqui - falo acerca das vantagens desta esponja. De facto, para mim, ela permite um acabamento bem mais natural, sem os traços de arrasto que o pincel faz. E acredito que gaste um pouco menos de produto, mas não consigo aferir bem sobre isso. A haver diferença, não será muito significativa.

O problema que lhe vejo tem a ver com a sua limpeza. E passo a ilustrar.

Após a lavagem da esponja, ela continua "suja". Não é facil retirar por completo o produto do seu interior.

Ainda, o problema do tempo de secagem. Enquanto que os pincéis secam em pouco tempo, a esponja demora muito tempo até secar completamente e voltar ao seu tamanho original. No meu caso, eu submergi a Beauty Blender em água corrente, secando-a com a toalha, antes de a usar. E demorou praticamente dois dias entre o tamanho ilustrado na foto do lado esquerdo até ao do lado direito.

Outro aspecto, como não consigo retirar completamente o produto, quando fui secar a esponja na toalha...ficou suja.

No meu post anterior "Beauty#5 - Limpeza dos pincéis e esponjas. E qual o melhor?" - aqui - puderam constatar a facilidade de limpeza do pincel.

Mas então, o que quero dizer? Que não presta?

Não, nada disso! Ela é uma boa esponja e eu continuo a usá-la. Mas não para a aplicação diária da base. Uso-a para fazer o acabamento final da base, é perfeita para anular o rastro do pincel, e também para a aplicação do corrector. Funciona lindamente.

Ainda, como também não a lavo todos dias, mas apenas semanalmente, a questão do tempo de secagem também não é muito grave.

Para mim, é a minha opinião obviamente, o problema maior está no facto de eu não a conseguir limpar muito bem.

Conclusão: Não me arrependo nada de ter comprado a Beauty Blender. Apenas não a uso para o fim que inicialmente tinha previsto.

The question: What is best? The Beauty Blender sponge or a brush to apply foundation?

On my post  "Beauty Blender - a gota mágica?" - here - I make an approach to the several advantages of this sponge. I believe she allows a more natural finish, without those lines the brush makes when applying foundation. Also, I think it might waste a little less product than the brush, but I can´t honestly state that for sure. It might be a minimum difference.

The main issue for me has to do with its cleaning. 

Although I washed it a couple of times, it ends up somewhat "dirty". It´s not easy to clean it completely, removing all product from the inside. 

Still, the drying time is another issue. The drying time for the brushes is much smaller than the sponge. It takes it a lot longer to get completely dry and go back back to its original size. 

I have submerged the sponge in running water, "dried" it on a towel, before using it. And it took me two days for it to go from the size documented on the left side of the picture, to the one on the right side. 
Moreover, as I couldn´t remove all excess product from the sponge, when "drying"it on my towel... it got dirty.

So, what am I say after all? That it sucks?

No, not at all! It´s an excellent sponge and I´m still using it. Just not to apply foundation. I use it for a better finishing on my foundation. It´s perfect to remove the streaking of the brush. Also perfect to apply concealer. Works beautifully! 

Once, I don´t wash it every day, but only on a weekly basis, the drying time isn´t so much of an issue for me. 

The biggest issue is, and that´s my humble opinion, the fact I can´t clean it properly without ruining it a little.

Conclusion: I don´t regret buying my Beauty Blender. I just use it differently that I originally thought I would.
